Rugs tell a story.

We want to tell yours.

By recording information available about each hooked work of art created and about the rug hooker who created it, we are preserving the history and traditions of the people of Nova Scotia who lived during a particular time and in particular communities. By collecting this information, it helps us to better understand more about their interests, culture and communities in which they lived while preserving the craft.

Who we are

The Heritage Rug Registry is a standing committee of The Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia (RHGNS) which aims to promote, record, and preserve the history of the unique craft and art of rug hooking specifically in Nova Scotia.
