Story about the rug

This floral rug was hooked by my great aunt, Margaret Inglis (nee Chisholm). Margaret gave the rug to her sister, Elizabeth MacKay (nee Chisholm), my grandmother as a gift. Both Elizabeth and Margaret hooked rugs. My mother, Margaret Wood (nee MacKay) remembers her mother, Elizabeth and her Aunt Margaret working together hooking rugs, and making their own designs. I do not know what year this rug was completed. Grandma gave the rug to me, Beverly Hemlow (need Wood), sometime in the mid/late 1980’s. “I was so honoured to have been given the rug and treasure it dearly.”
Margaret Alice Chisholm was born in 1900 in Moose River, Pictou County, NS. She married George Inglis in 1921. They lived in Laggan, Pictou County. Margaret Inglis died in 1988.
