“Christmas in the Valley” is a lovely wall hanging illustrating a snowy winter scene including a little village with a church surrounded by homes/buildings, snow covered trees, a winding road with hills and mountains in the background. The border includes the colours used to hook this image arranged in rectangular blocks around the outside circular edge.
This lovely piece is hooked on burlap backing using new and recycled wool strips. A fabric backing is sewn to this piece which is mounted over a circular board so it maybe displayed proudly on a wall.

Kay, as everyone called her, hooked rugs for over 52 years. She learned the craft of rug hooking from various rug school teachers in Ontario and Nova Scotia guilds. She usually hooked rugs for family use, social times and charitable causes. She was well known in the rug hooking community. She was a Life Member of The Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia and an honorary member of the Colchester Heritage Rug Hookers.
