Not much is known about the origins of this hooked rug. The owner inherited it from her grandmother. The rug was in her grandmother’s home when she moved into the home pre-1940. There are no indicators of who hooked it or when it was hooked.
It is hooked with recycled materials on burlap as were most rugs hooked pre-1940. The edges are whip stitched. It certainly has endured the test of time.
