Story about the rug

The colours remain bright and colourful in this hooked rug that is over 100 years old. It is hooked on burlap backing with strips of recycled clothing including cotton, knits and mixed materials. The edges are folded over to the back and hooked to keep the edges secured on the back. If you view the other rugs registered on this site hooked by Mary Creighton you will note that all 4 of the rugs are of similar colours/materials.
Mary Creighton lived her entire life in Mount Thom, Pictou County, NS. She was a homemaker and caregiver. Her hooked rugs have been kept in the family over the years and are real treasurers.
