This rug and rug #2025-76 were purchased together. The rug hooker is unknown; however, it is possible these rugs were hooked by someone in the Annapolis Valley aera of Nova Scotia given how these rugs were hooked.
Notice the flowers and leaves are raised (loops are higher than the background, referred to as “Riz Rose” or “raised” 3-dimensional rug hooking). They are hooked with yarn. The background is hooked flat using recycled cotton (possibly shirts and dresses) folded over and hooked. (This was a very common style of rug hooking in the Annapolis Valley area.) A charming, possible bedside mat, hooked on burlap with a crochet edge.
