This rug and rug #2025-75 were purchased together. The rug hooker is unknown however, it is possible these rugs were hooked by someone in the Annapolis Valley area of Nova Scotia.
Notice the flowers and leaves are raised (loops are higher than the background referred to “Riz Rose” or “raised” 3-dimensional rug hooking). They are hooked with yarn. The background is hooked flat using recycled cotton (possibly shirts and dresses) folded over and hooked. (This was a very common style of rug hooking in the Annapolis Valley area.)
