This pattern designed by the Garretts was a popular design over the years. It is hooked with a mixture of recycled textiles including wool, cotton, etc. on burlap backing. The finishing technique appears to be denim binding showing on the outside edge, folded over to the back and stitched down.
This rug may have been displayed on a wall as there is remnants of glue on velcro strips.
This rug and several others were located in a cottage in Green Bay, NS and gifted to the current owner.
