This design is from “P is for Primitive” is a rug hooker designer and distributor of the “Life at the Beach” series based on artwork of Melissa McLeod, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA.
This particular hooked wall hanging of a woman driving a red Volkswagen “Bug” headed to the beach with surfboard, beach ball, etc. was gifted to the owner who owned a red VW bug she named “Daisy” for a special milestone birthday while near the beach in Prince Edward Island.
It is hooked with new wool fabric strips (#5 and #6 cuts) on linen backing. The edges are folded over and stitched down on the back. a 2 inch wool fabric border is sewn along the edges of the back of the wall hanging.
The wall hanging is displayed in an area where it is noticed by everyone who enters the home. Once can’t help but smile when looking at it.
The rug hooker’s name and year it was hooked are included on the back of this wall hanging. Linda Alderdice is a Life Member of the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia. Life members are welcome to display their rug hooking pieces regardless of when they were hooked.
