Story about the rug

May Robicheau hooked many rugs primarily for the purpose of warming the floors of their home. She used whatever materials were available, usually recycled family clothing. There are various textures and colours in this rug. The border is navy blue (various shades and textures). It is hooked on burlap backing. Edges are folded over and hooked through the entire thickness of the rug.

May was a wife, mother, school teacher, artist, seamstress and grandmother. She and her husband lived in Meteghan, NS, a French Acadian community.
