Story about the rug

May Robicheau hooked many rugs used primarily to warm the floors of their home. She used recycled family clothing of various textures and colours. . This rug has many, many colours used in it and shows a shell design throughout the rug as well as along the border. It is hooked on burlap backing. Edges are folded over and hooked through the entire thickness of the rug.

May was a wife, mother, school teacher, artist, seamstress and grandmother. She and her husband lived in Meteghan, NS, a French Acadian community.
