“Petite Persian” is the name of this oriental design by Rittermere-Hurst-Field, Aurora, Ontario. This was a rug hooking course taught by Dorothy Haight that Leslie (Boxall) Cameron attended. It is hooked using new materials including 100% wool trips and yarn wool hand dyed with Magic Carpet dyes. The backing is cotton rug warp. The edges are whipped with cotton binding sewn along the outside edge on the back.
This rug was hooked while Leslie was living in Truro, NS. Leslie is still rug hooking and enjoys the social times with fellow rug hookers here in Nova Scotia.
