This hooked rug was donated to a heritage society in Nova Scotia. It is well worn. As you can see the two edges have been repaired. It is hooked on burlap backing using various types of recycled materials, probably clothing. The edges are turned over to the back and stitched down.
The background of this rug consists of various colours and materials that is referred to as “hit and miss”.
