This “sampler” rug was Lynn’s first rug she hooked. She attended a rug hooking course taught by Edie Cole. It is hooked using recycled materials on burlap backing. The flowers are hooked using #3 cut strips of mixed materials and the background is hooked using #4/#5 cut strips of mixed materials.
The outside edges of the rug are whip stitched and cotton binding is sewn along the outside edge on the back. Her initials and year she hooked the rug are stitched on the binding.
The colours in Lynn’s first rug compliment each other very well and her rug hooking is very neatly done! A real keepsake.
