This hooked rug is very similar to the Scotty dog rug Ethel hooked (see rug registration # 2025-58). The leaves and flowers are different in this rug compared to the other one.
It is an adaptation of the Scotty dog pattern designed by the Garretts.
It is hooked using recycled materials on burlap backing (possibly feedbag). The edge is whip stitched with yarn. It has been repaired in some areas.
Ethel was born in Blandford and lived in the Forties, NS (Ethel Bezanson: 1902-1984)
