Doris had hooked a few wall hangings similar to this design and titled them “Tidal Pool”. This was #3 so it is titled, “Tidal Pool 3” created for her daughter, Donna.
It is hooked with various materials on monks cloth. Look closely and notice all the beautiful colours and various fibres in this piece. A true work of art which certainly demonstrates the artist she was. The fringe at the bottom of this wall hanging consists of strands also used in the creation of the rug. It is absolutely stunning. Doris mentions in her book, “A Life Time of Rug Hooking” that “this rug was the most successful of all my tidal pool rugs”.
