Story about the rug

This mat was donated to the Parkdale/Maplewood Community Museum in 1954. It was used as a door mat by the rug hooker’s son, Thomas, in his home. It is hooked with recycled materials including yarn, cotton strips, rayon, etc. on burlap backing. Binding is sewn on the front and turned over to the back and sewn down to preserve it. It has been repaired in several areas and there is minimal staining on it.
