This Christmas stocking was hooked by Peggy Carson who lived in Halifax and Pictou, Nova Scotia for many years. She learned rug hooking from others who belonged to a hooking group in Pictou as well as attending RHGNS rug school. She enjoyed rug hooking and hooked items for family use, social times and for creative expression.
This stocking is hooked using wool strips as well as recycled materials on burlap backing. The back of the stocking is plaid fabric which matches the top of the front of the stocking. It now is in New Zealand cherished by one of Peggy’s daughter’s, a lovely family keepsake. (There are several other hooked pieces created by Peggy Carson on this website as well.)
