This lovely runner was designed and hooked by the owner.  Susan sold the pattern in her shop she owned from 1996-2003 in Halifax, NS. It is hooked on linen cloth with new materials and recycled materials including wool, knitted fabric, cashmere sweaters.
The backing is folded over and stitched down on the back. Cotton binding was handstitched to cover and protect the folded backing. It is in excellent condition.
Susan has been rug hooking since 1990. She attended rug hooking courses offered by the RHGNS and St. Lawrence College (Ontario). She also read a lot of books, learned tips from her grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoys rug hooking as well as dyeing the materials, teaching classes and for creative expression.
The rug hooker’s initials and year this table runner was made are embroidered by machine on the twill binding sewn on the back.
