This rug is hooked using recycled materials including wool, yarn wool, knitted fabric as well as mixed materials. In the black border area, there is approximately 10 different fabrics used which all have faded differently to light brown to many different shades of black and black/green. The edges are stitched with binding. The binding is seen on the front as well as the back of the rug.
this rug was purchased in 1998 at an antique shop in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The owner, Susan Logue, has repaired the rug by applying new black cotton binding, machine stitched and she has also repaired one small patch on the rug on the green leaf to preserve this beautiful hooked rug.
