This rug was hooked by Helen Mountain around 1985 for her grandson, Blair. It was on the floor in his bedroom throughout his childhood. The backing is burlap and the design was stamped on the burlap for rug hooking.  It is hooked using recycled materials. The burlap is folded over to the back and stitched down.

The Garrett Bluenose pattern was a very popular pattern and continues to be hooked by many for children and grandchildren.
