Story about the rug

This beautiful floral design is hooked with new wool strips and wool yarn on burlap backing. It is a “Waldoboro” design. The rug hooker completed the floral area in 1983. This piece was gifted to friend, Ursula Gulliver, who completed it. It would look lovely as a wall hanging or table mat.
Frances Purdy learned how to rug hook from her mother however she did not hook regularly until later in life. She also would design rugs. She attended several rug schools held in Nova Scotia at Church Point, Cornwallis and Truro. She was one of the first members of the Colchester Heritage Rug Hookers and hooked with this group for many years. She enjoyed socializing with other rug hookers.
